FORGEWICK / CREATOR EDITIONS

Product case study / A Forgewick studio project

From a box of chicks to eggs by winter.

We created The First Flock Chicken Planner for the questions every first-time keeper asks: how warm does the brooder need to be, how big does the coop have to be, and when will they lay? It turns the answers into something a reader can use: a brooder log, a coop build checklist with the right numbers, a chore chart, an egg log and a flock record.

Self-initiated studio project showing the quality of our work. General poultry-keeping guidance, not veterinary advice; climates, breeds and local rules differ. It has not launched with a creator or generated sales.

THE CASE STUDY

One reader problem.
A complete product.

The brief: help a first-time keeper raise chicks to laying hens without guessing, with the brooder, coop and routine numbers in one place.

We grounded the guide in university extension poultry guidance and the CDC's backyard-poultry rules: 90-95°F in the brooder's first week and five degrees less each week; at least 1.5 square feet per hen, a nest box for every four and 14-16 hours of light for year-round eggs; and hands washed every time. Every chapter turns that into one simple habit.

The finished edition combines original writing, a consistent illustrated style, a worked weekend and six printable tools. In a partner edition, the creator's own flock, climate, methods and audience questions shape every page.

Illustrative projection · not a past result or a forecast

What it could look like each month for a creator with 80K engaged followers

800buyers a month if 1% of 80,000 followers buy each month
$19,200in sales a month at $24 each
≈ $9,000a month: your 50% share after est. Whop and payment fees (~6%)

The maths, openly: 80,000 × 1% = 800 buyers × $24 = $19,200 in sales a month. After estimated fees of about 6% that is roughly $18,048, split 50/50, so about $9,024 a month to you, credited automatically through Whop. Writing, design, sales setup, delivery and customer support are covered by Forgewick: $0 to you.

Risk-free 60-day pilot. If the ebook hasn't found its audience within 60 days, we take it down. Nothing is published until you're 100% happy with it, and you never pay anything.

Illustrative projection only. Real results depend on your audience, the price we agree and how often you share it; 1% a month is an assumption, not a promise.
